Monty Python's Ad Break

Have you ever watched a ridiculous show like Monty Python and wondered, what would happen if they ran commercials?

​

Well, now you don't have to anymore, because, boy, have we got the opportunity for you! Play out the zaniest and craziest ads you can think of, to finally make those blasted commercials not only bearable for once, but actually funny.

Be careful though! You have only a single minute to show your ad, and due to um... Budget constraints... You only have a limited amount of time to make the ad! So what are you waiting for? Sign up, sign up!

For Grades 9-12 

₹1000 per team

Performance

This event has 3 rounds that you will participate in, each with its own format

Round 1

In the first round, every team will have to create ads based on one open prompt

 

Each team is given 3 mundane objects of their choice and must make a 1 minute ad for each object, keeping the prompt in mind

Round 2

Now, teams will be given products, but there will be a bit of a special twist

​

The teams with the wittiest, funniest and most "persuasive" advertisements advance to the third round

Round 3

In this final round, every team is given the same one product and they must utilise their time to advertise exactly that

​

The teams will compete to make the most convincing advertisement and win the "Mad Ads" competition!

General Rules and Information

Although these are "advertisements", they must be played out live theatrically; No recordings.

​

Each team has exactly 1 minute to perform, no more.


You will be given the stimulus 20 minutes earlier and have that much time to prepare.

​

You are advised to use everyone on your team, this MUST be a collaborative effort.

 

You will not be provided with additional microphones, props or equipment, make do with what surrounds you.

 

Be careful with language and profanity, these are G - rated advertisements.
